Wild Cornish Flowers and Sea Views in St.Ives
Hello! How nice it is to be back blogging, and on a much lighter note this time. Thank you for all your kind comments about my last post... It was a scary one to share but what a lovely lot you are.  Thank crikey it's business as usual today.

I recently spent a much needed week away in St.Ives, Cornwall. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I absolutely love St.Ives. The bluest of seas, the prettiest of views and the most wonderful laid back creative way of living. Why don't I earn a living selling hand made vases??
A laid back week in my favourite place was just what the Doctor ordered. Cream teas, countless pasties and rosé wine probs not so much.

I've been holidaying in St.Ives almost every year since I was a wee one (bar a few years from 18 up...those years when you wouldn't be seen dead on holiday with your parents - cue boob tubes, boys and Tenerife). Suddenly some ten years or so have passed and there's nothing quite as good for your soul as a week away with your family. (Do you like how I've subtly put myself at 28 "or so"?)

I hope you enjoy these photos from the week.

Typically British sea side towns aren't short of a bit of tack are they, but St.Ives has escaped it, thanks to stylish independent shops, art galleries galore and good food. You can still grab a bucket and spade like, treat yourself to a Fat Willys t.shirt, or get a braid in your hair on the harbour front, but there'll be no feature in Britains most crap towns anytime soon.
N.B. I once got a braid during a day trip to London. What's next? Cornrows from an afternoon in Skegness?

If you find yourself down that neck of the woods this summer (St.Ives not Skegness) and fancy filling your face with some hearty food I'd recommend:
For Cream Teas - The Pier Coffee Bar
For tapas, cocktails and a long lazy lunch - Silco Searoom
For Seaview dining and the dreamiest of deserts (hello chocolate sphere) - Porthminster Beach Cafe

Thanks so much for reading.

P.S I hope you're enjoying the heatwave and I hope your work place has air con (mine does not).

Love Elaine x
