Escape For The Night at Stanley House Hotel & Spa

Whoever said 'it's grim up North' had clearly never frequented Stanley House Hotel and Spa. Nestled in the Ribble Valley countryside you could easily forget that you're just in Lancashire, 'by eck you could be anywhere lass when you're lounging by the pool enjoying panoramic views of blue skies and rolling hills.

We were lucky enough to be treated to an "Escape For The Night" package as a Christmas present and decided to tag it on to the end of our week in Cornwall. The perfect antidote to any holiday blues.

The stay included an afternoon in the luxurious spa, followed by a treatment of choice afterwards. I had the most relaxing facial which helped soothe away any musings over what did the lady who will be massaging my man look like?

So swept up in the tranquil ambience was I that I decided to treat myself to a £55.00 Natura Bissé  exfoliator. A little more than I would usually pay for a product but it works wonders and as I explained to Oliver, its a micro granulated citric exfoliant for face and body so I'd have been foolish not to have snapped  one up.

Our relaxing afternoon was followed by a three course dinner in the on site Mr Fred's Bar and Lounge and an overnight stay in the new Woodland Rooms.

The hotel is only half an hours drive for us and yet we could've been a million miles away. Cut off from the real world with nothing to do but relax and enjoy good food,  drinks (several of) and each others company.

Every once in a while we all deserve to don a hotel provided white robe and enjoy a glass of fizz with no particular place to be (apart from your pre-booked treatment that is).

Thanks so much for reading,

Elaine xx
